Power on. Scan. Live.

Zero-touch provisioning for the machines Nils & Abbas sells and services. An engineer mounts a gateway and scans its label. The compressor is then licensed, recognised and on your service desk within minutes, with no laptop, IP address or register map needed on site.

GW-0412 is waiting to be claimed

After handover, the installed base goes quiet.

Nils & Abbas sells and services compressors, blowers, dryers, boilers and vacuum pumps across the Gulf. Once a machine is commissioned, it usually goes silent. The next thing anyone hears about it is often a breakdown call.

Until now, connecting a machine meant sending an engineer with a laptop, a register map and a return visit to every site. Zero-touch provisioning reduces that to one scan, so you can connect the installed base while your engineers are already on their routine visits.

Illustrative scenario. Customer names, serials, times and readings are fictional.

Readings become after‑sales work.

A reading only matters when someone acts on it. Every advisory is checked by your engineers before the customer hears about it. Your desk follows the same path every time, from the first signal to the recorded outcome.

New advisory

Intake filter pressure drop is rising

Up from 0.18 to 0.31 bar over 21 days at similar load. The profile's advisory threshold is 0.30 bar.

threshold 0.30 bar

Raised automatically. Not yet visible to the customer.

Accepted by an engineer

Reviewed by Sam K., service engineer

“The trend holds across three weeks and the temperature is steady, so it's the filter, not the load. Recommend replacing it at the next visit.”

Rejected advisories are kept too, so the thresholds can be tuned.

Message in Gulf Cans' portal

The intake filter on compressor 2 is clogging. It isn't urgent, but it makes the compressor work harder. We recommend replacing it on our next visit.

The chart is attached to the message. The customer can ask a question or approve the work.

Visit booked

Tuesday 14 Oct, 10:00

Work order WO-7734 has been sent to Sam K. The kit is reserved from stock. The customer has confirmed the time in their portal.

Nothing on the controller changes remotely. The engineer does the work on site.

Closed

Filter replaced. Pressure drop back to 0.17 bar.

visit

The case keeps the advisory, the decision, the quote, the job and the result. That record is what an AMC renewal is argued from.

The customer gets a screen too.

Customers see their own machines, the same readings your engineers see and a button to request a visit. It carries your brand and your name as their service partner, and it's something to include in the AMC. This one works: click around.

Under the hood.

Two paths run through each gateway. One is the claim, licence and update path, which is used rarely and always checked. The other carries readings out, continuously and one way only.

Connection
Outbound only, over the gateway's own SIM. No inbound ports at the customer's site.
Access to the machine
Read-only, at one approved port. The gateway never writes to the controller.
Identity
One certificate per gateway, issued when it's claimed and renewed automatically.
Switching it off
Revoke a gateway from the platform and it stops sending. The machine is unaffected.
Updates
Signed software updates, tried on one site first, with a way back.
Signal loss
Readings are stored on the gateway and sent when the link returns, up to its storage limit.
Replacing a gateway
Scan the new gateway and choose the old one it replaces. The machine keeps its history.
Customer data
Customers see only their own sites and can export their records.

What the scan replaces, and what it doesn't.

Minutes, from a phone

  • Claiming the gateway for a customer, site and room
  • Activating the licence
  • Swapping keys for a certificate
  • Loading the controller's profile
  • Creating the machine's record, alerts and screens

Still work on site

  • Mounting the gateway and cabling it to the controller
  • The customer's permission to connect their machine
  • The first site with a new controller family, which needs its profile built and tested. After that, the profile is reused.

Who does what.

Nils & Abbas

  • Owns the customer relationship
  • Mounts, cables and scans
  • Runs the service desk and the parts quotes
  • Decides whether monitoring is part of the AMC or sold separately

Spatiq

  • Runs the platform and the claim service
  • Builds and tests the controller profiles
  • Security, certificates and signed updates
  • Second-line support behind your engineers

The customer

  • Approves the connection
  • Sees their machines and the advice
  • Requests visits and approves work
  • Keeps access to their records

Start with two sites.

A pilot covers one controller family on two of your customer sites, with your service desk involved from the first advisory. We set up the platform and the profile. Your engineers mount the gateways and do the scans. Together we measure how long commissioning really takes, and whether the advisories lead to work your desk would otherwise have missed.

What a pilot proves

  • The time from power-on to live, measured on your sites
  • That the readings hold their meaning: units, freshness and gaps
  • That every advisory reaches an owner and gets an outcome
  • Whether your engineers can repeat the scan without us on site
